Great Tycho Brahe
Robert Jacobsen
The sculpture seems powerful and dynamic with the three long pipes leading upwards. However, they are held by a framework of horizontal and vertical shapes. The title refers to the great Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546-1601), who at the time performed the most accurate calculations of the movements of celestial bodies. Perhaps the sculpture can be experienced as a telescope letting us focus on the sun and the planets’ journey across the sky. |
