Pontus Kjermann, 2001

About the work

As part of the small trinity of sculptures on the corner of Torvegade and Orla Lehmansgade, there is a bench opposite Midgårdsbrønden (the Midgard Well), where a couple sits holding hands. The couple may well be the Horse Man from Midgårdsbrønden and Englekatten, when they may have been a young couple in love.

The bench was acquired in 2001, the main sponsors being Elmer print A/S and NCC. Donations were also received from Rambøll, Cowi A/S, DanJord A/S, City Vejle, Landinspekter company Jens Bo I/S, Consul Osvald Christensen’s Memorial Foundation, The Hindsborg Foundation, Aakjærs A/S, and Bent Vangsøe Natursten.
